The Listening Path: Excursion to Dieburg Forest
2. September 2026, 10:00 – 15:00
Meeting point: bus stop Aubergenviller Allee, Dieburg, 09:35 am
Der Hörweg (Listening Path) offers an immersive sound experience in the Dieburg forest. Along a five-kilometer path, visitors encounter eleven listening stations, revealing rich soundscapes – from the morning chorus of birds and the symphony of insects to the hidden world of bats. Through augmented reality, these environments come alive directly on your smartphone, unveiling the forest’s acoustic diversity.
This path brings soundscapes to our attention that often remain unnoticed in our everyday lives. It reveals fascinating acoustic realities that are either inaudible to the human ear or difficult to perceive without the support of innovative media technologies.
As part of The Global Composition Conference, sound artist and educator Aleksandar Vejnovic will be your guide at the sound hike.
The trail is also well suited for bicycles, so participants are welcome to bring their bikes along if they have one.
