Club of the Future: Collective Resonance – Nature Becomes Club Sound
5. September 2026, 18:00 – approx. 22:00
Centralstation, Darmstadt
Club of the Future is an immersive 3D-audio event that transforms the club into a space for participation, collective listening, and acoustic ecology. Through spatial audio, sensors, generative composition, and immersive media, the project explores how listening can become a democratic, ecological, and collaborative practice.
The evening unfolds in several phases, beginning with an immersive sound installation and interactive sonic environment before developing into a live 3D-audio performance:
18:00 – Phase I: Immersive Sound Installation
An immersive 3D-audio soundscape based on natural and environmental sounds.
19:00 – Phase II: Interactive Sound Environment
Visitors can actively influence, transform, mix, and generate sounds through their presence and movements. Sensors capture interactions in the space and translate them into sound in real time.
20:00 – Phase III: Urban Resonances
An acoustic expedition through the Rhine-Main region in 3D audio, produced by the Soundscape & Environmental Media Lab / h_da.
20:30 – Phase IV: Mookee – Main Act
A live 3D-audio performance accompanied by live visuals by VJ Philipp Schober.
Getting there from Dieburg: The conference team will provide participants with information about the recommended connection from Dieburg to Centralstation Darmstadt.
3D Audio Workshop at Centralstation with Sabine Breitsameter and Robin Wiemann
6. September 2026, 17:00 – 18:30
Conference participants are invited to attend a 3D audio workshop at Centralstation Darmstadt. The workshop reflects the artistic and technical approaches developed for Club of the Future, offering participants insight into the concepts and methods behind the project.
The workshop begins with an introductory lecture by Prof. Sabine Breitsameter, Not a Neutral Concept – Preliminary Thoughts on Immersivity and Critical Thinking. Following the lecture, participants will take part in a practical workshop led by Prof. Sabine Breitsameter and Robin Wiemann, exploring the creative processes, technologies, and collaborative practices involved in developing immersive 3D audio environments.
